In the final year of university, I had a chance to be a Communications and Events intern for three months at Sunwah Group Viet Nam, which is a multinational corporation based in Hong Kong. My internship report was graded 9/10 and also led me to be one of three speakers sharing about internship experience with my younger student fellows. In this post, I will share more about my duties and their results.
3 main Projects I contributed to and other duties
During my enriching internship at Sunwah Vietnam's External Department, I assumed substantial roles with significant responsibilities, showcasing my adeptness in event management and logistical coordination. Guided by an insightful team leader and benefiting from invaluable mentorship from experienced colleagues, I contributed to the seamless logistics for two major events: a visit of 40 Hong Kong entrepreneurs to Ho Chi Minh City to explore investment opportunities and a high-profile Investment & Business Forum hosting 300 participants. I honed my event management skills and demonstrated my capacity to excel under pressure through completing tasks including event logistics, and invitation management.
Furthermore, I made notable contributions to the "Nguoi Nhan Van Khoi Nghiep 2022" startup challenge, sponsored by Sunwah Innovations. In this role, I facilitated seamless coordination of activities and provided indispensable support to participants, broadening my perspective on the intersection of innovation and social change.
Beyond my primary responsibilities in event coordination, I actively engaged in diverse tasks such as content creation, client research, and document translation. These multifaceted experiences and my academic background, coupled with the invaluable guidance of my colleagues, bolstered my skill set and nurtured my adaptability in navigating dynamic corporate environments.
The positive feedback from the Manager at External Relations Department
After finishing every project, I had a performance review with my manager, who was also my mentor during this three-month internship. From the very first to the final review, she gave me invaluable feedback including my strong points, as well as my weak points that needed to be enhanced. The photo below shows some descriptive comments collected from my notes.
